What is the NuGen Fusion XT water softener?
The Fusion XT is NuGen’s high-efficiency water softener, made in the USA with a limited lifetime warranty. Its digital metered control regenerates based on how much water you actually use rather than on a timer, which saves salt and water, and its full-flow design keeps your water pressure strong.
Are you an authorized NuGen dealer?
Yes. Drake Mechanical is an authorized NuGen dealer. We install NuGen water softeners and service existing NuGen systems across the Treasure Valley.
Will a water softener help my water heater?
Yes. Scale from hard water collects in the bottom of tank water heaters and on the heat exchanger of tankless ones, making them less efficient and shortening their life. Softened water stops that buildup, and we set up softeners to protect both tank and tankless water heaters.
How often does a water softener need service?
Check the salt level every month or so and top it up before it runs low. Beyond that, a yearly check catches problems such as salt bridges, a stuck valve or a worn resin bed before you notice hard water again. The Drake Duck Club’s Plumbing and Whole House plans include a yearly water softener back flush and a water hardness check.
