Signs of a sewer line problem
Your sewer line carries everything from your drains to the city sewer or septic tank. When roots, a break or a sag block it, the signs show up in several drains at once, often in the lowest fixtures in the house first.
How a Drake sewer line repair works
We run a waterproof camera through the line to see exactly what’s wrong, and a locator shows where the problem is and how deep, often within inches. That lets us plan the least disruptive repair: clearing roots, repairing just the damaged section, or replacing the line when it’s failing along its length.
You see the video and get a clear price before any work starts.
Spot repair or full replacement
When the camera shows a single break, a root intrusion or one sagging section, we repair just that spot. When the line is cracked, crushed or collapsing along much of its length, replacing it is the lasting fix. Either way, you’ll see the footage and understand why we recommend what we do. For roots and buildup, see drain cleaning and hydro jetting.

Josh and his crew (Oscar and Levi) came out to install my new water heater and repipe my entire home. It was 3 days and they did a fantastic job! I will add that my drywall guy came to make some repairs and he also said they did a fantastic job! Thank you again to the entire team!

We were having low water pressure from our kitchen faucet and tried changing the cartridge and the wand and a few other things with no success. Thomas Conley came out and fixed problem within an hour. Now our water pressure is back to normal and we are extremely happy. Thomas is very professional and knowledgeable. Very happy with Drake Mechanical

Common questions
Have a question that isn’t here? Call us any time at (208) 362-6200.
What are the signs of a sewer line problem?
Several drains slowing down at once, gurgling sounds, sewage smells inside or outside, water backing up into the lowest drain or tub when you run a washer or flush, and soggy or extra-green patches in the yard over the sewer line.
What does a sewer camera inspection show?
A waterproof camera on a cable travels through your sewer line and shows us its condition: roots, cracks, breaks, sags where water collects, buildup and offset joints. A locator then shows where the problem is and how deep, so a repair can be planned precisely.
Can tree roots get into my sewer line?
Yes. Roots find their way into small cracks and loose joints, then grow and catch everything that flows past. We clear them with hydro jetting or a cutting head and use a camera to see whether the pipe needs repair.
Do you have to dig up my whole yard to fix a sewer line?
Not usually. Our camera and locator find the damaged spot and its depth, so we only dig where the repair is needed, and a spot repair is often possible instead of replacing the whole line.
Do you offer emergency service?
Yes. We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for plumbing, heating and air conditioning emergencies. Call or text (208) 362-6200.
