Is a ductless mini-split right for you?
A mini-split is a small heat pump: an outdoor unit connected to one or more slim indoor units by refrigerant lines. Each indoor unit has its own controls, so you heat or cool only the rooms you’re using.
They’re efficient, quiet and quick to install, because there’s no ductwork to run.
Ductless mini-split installation, done right
Mini-splits only perform well when they’re sized and installed properly. We size each indoor unit to its room, place it where it will spread air evenly, and run and charge the refrigerant lines carefully so the system lasts. You get your options with a clear price before any work starts.
We also service and repair existing mini-splits, including weak heating, refrigerant leaks, drain problems and indoor unit error codes.
Ductless heating as well as cooling
Because a mini-split is a heat pump, it heats as well as it cools through most of a Treasure Valley year. Can a ductless mini-split heat as well as cool?
Yes. A ductless mini-split is a heat pump, so it heats in winter and cools in summer. Many homeowners use one to keep a bonus room, addition or shop comfortable year-round.
How many rooms can one mini-split system handle?
A single-zone system has one indoor unit for one room or area. A multi-zone system connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so each room has its own thermostat. We’ll recommend the layout that fits your home.
Do ductless mini-splits need ductwork?
No. The indoor unit mounts on a wall or ceiling and connects to the outdoor unit through a small hole for the refrigerant lines and wiring. That’s why they’re a good fit for additions, garages and older homes without ducts.
