Signs your well system needs repair
A well system is three parts working together: the pump in the well, the pressure tank and the pressure switch. A problem with any one of them shows up as pressure trouble at your faucets, and a failing tank or switch can wear out an expensive pump early.
How a Drake well pump repair works
We test the whole system, not just one part, so we fix the actual cause: a submersible pump, a waterlogged pressure tank or failed bladder, or a worn pressure switch. We repair and replace all three, and set the switch to the right pressure range for your home.
You get your options and a clear price before any work starts.
Constant-pressure well pumps
A constant-pressure system uses a variable frequency drive (VFD) to speed the pump up or slow it down to match the water you’re using. Pressure stays steady, like city water, the large pressure tank is replaced by a small one, and the pump can use less electricity.
Sump pumps and sewage ejectors
We repair and install sump pumps for basements and crawl spaces, and sewage ejector pumps where fixtures sit below the sewer line, including the pit, single or dual pumps, check valves and discharge piping. Common repairs include stuck float switches, burnt-out motors, clogged discharge lines and broken check valves. We also install high-water alarms, an inexpensive way to hear about a failure before it floods.

Josh and his crew (Oscar and Levi) came out to install my new water heater and repipe my entire home. It was 3 days and they did a fantastic job! I will add that my drywall guy came to make some repairs and he also said they did a fantastic job! Thank you again to the entire team!

We were having low water pressure from our kitchen faucet and tried changing the cartridge and the wand and a few other things with no success. Thomas Conley came out and fixed problem within an hour. Now our water pressure is back to normal and we are extremely happy. Thomas is very professional and knowledgeable. Very happy with Drake Mechanical

Common questions
Have a question that isn’t here? Call us any time at (208) 362-6200.
How do I know if my well pump is failing?
Watch for sputtering faucets, pressure that rises and falls, a pump that turns on and off rapidly or runs constantly, no water at all, cloudy or sandy water, or an electric bill that jumped. Any of these can be the pump, the pressure tank or the pressure switch; we test all three.
What does a well pressure tank do?
It stores water under pressure so your pump doesn’t have to start every time you open a faucet. When its air charge or bladder fails, the tank fills with water (waterlogged) and the pump starts and stops rapidly, called short-cycling, which wears it out early.
What is a constant-pressure well pump?
A constant-pressure system uses a variable-speed drive to speed the pump up or slow it down to match how much water you’re using, so pressure stays steady, like city water. It needs only a small pressure tank and can use less electricity than a pump that runs at full speed.
How do I know if my sump pump is working?
Slowly pour a bucket of water into the sump pit. The pump should start on its own, empty the pit and shut off. If it doesn’t start, hums without pumping, or runs and runs, call us. An alarm that warns you when the water rises too high is inexpensive protection.
