Stale air in a tight house?
Modern, well-sealed homes hold in heat, and they hold in moisture, odors and indoor pollutants too. Opening a window lets out the heat or air conditioning you paid for. An HRV solves both problems.
How a Drake HRV installation works
An HRV exchanges stale indoor air for fresh outdoor air through a heat exchanger, so the incoming air is warmed (or cooled) by the outgoing air. It reduces window condensation and removes dust, pollen and chemical off-gassing, quietly and efficiently. An ERV also recovers moisture.
We install, repair and maintain HRVs and ERVs and will recommend the right one for your home.

We had an excellent experience with Drake Mechanical. We needed a wine cellar AC split system repaired and they were able to help us out (apparently this requires a specialist). We appreciate their timely and professional repair.

This is the second time Bryce has done repairs on my AC. He is so kind & knowledgeable and is thorough in explaining the issue and how it is being fixed. AC units are too expensive to replace & I appreciate that Bryce found other solutions.

Common questions
Have a question that isn’t here? Call us any time at (208) 362-6200.
What does a heat recovery ventilator do?
An HRV brings in fresh outdoor air and sends stale indoor air out, passing them through a heat exchanger so the incoming air picks up most of the heat from the outgoing air. You get fresh, filtered air without throwing away your heating or cooling. An ERV also transfers moisture.
Will an HRV stop condensation on my windows?
Often, yes. Winter window condensation usually means too much moisture is trapped in a tightly sealed house. An HRV swaps that humid air for drier outdoor air, which reduces condensation along with stale air, odors and indoor pollutants.
Should I get an HRV or an ERV?
Both bring in fresh air and recover heat. An HRV removes more moisture, which helps homes with winter condensation; an ERV also keeps some humidity in, which can suit drier homes or homes with air conditioning in summer. We’ll recommend the right one for your house.
