Can I use a water heater for radiant floor heating?
Yes. In many homes, a high-efficiency water heater can supply both radiant floor heat and household hot water, which is often an efficient setup. Larger systems usually use a dedicated boiler. We design and service both.
Can radiant floor heating be added to an existing home?
Often, yes. Tubing can go into a new slab in a basement or addition, or be installed under existing wood floors from below. We’ll look at your floors and tell you what’s practical.
Does radiant floor heating need maintenance?
Yes, but not much. A yearly check of the circulator pumps, the boiler or water heater, the controls and the system pressure keeps it running efficiently and catches problems before a cold snap.
